Earth Friendly Baby

If you and your spouse are committed to living a green lifestyle; it’s only natural that you want to raise an earth friendly baby. If you have taken care to eat organically and avoid exposure to toxins and pesticides throughout your pregnancy, you are on the way to an eco-friendly beginning for your child. Children born to parents who avoid toxins and chemicals are already on their way to better health and fewer allergies.

It is amazing how many things you can find that are made with sustainable and natural products. Organic fabrics such as hemp, cotton, wool, and bamboo are made into clothing, blankets, cloth diapers and toys. Certainly the use of cloth diapers takes no toll at all on the landfills. They are actually cheaper when you consider that in a two year period you will use and dispose of approximately 7600 disposable diapers versus 25-40 organic cloth diapers which can be laundered and reused through several children

There are many other green products that can be used instead of traditional ones. There are soaps, cream cleansers, natural baby wipes, lotions, and diaper rash creams available in most stores and online. In fact there are entire websites devoted to just that type of product. If we want to raise an eco-friendly baby, we should take a cue from our ancestors and reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible. Years ago people wasted nothing and if we want to save our planet, we need to mend our wasteful ways. Our ancestor’s breast fed their babies, made their own baby food, used cloth diapers, and made their baby clothing.

Of course, we live in a busier world now and many households are comprised of two working parents but there is also a greater availability of organic formulas, baby food, and other products to make a green lifestyle a bit more convenient. You may not have time to launder diapers, but many diaper services are carrying organic diapers these days so you don’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience. You can still raise an earth friendly baby.
